Evidence from the psychotherapy sessions with Max, a borderline patient
A study from a group of clinician- researchers. This paper presents the work of a group of clinician-researchers gathered together in a seminar around the case of Max, a borderline patient whose psychodynamic psychotherapy was assessed following an innovative and reco- gnized methodology practiced in the French Psychotherapy Practice-Based Research Network. The patient has improved despite the seriousness and complexity of his symptoms and its functioning. On which evidence criteria can we say that psychotherapy is a central factor in this development and what are the ingredients and causal chains that can be proposed to explain it ? The presentation is focused on the initial case formulation, clinical expertise into the conduct of a treatment plan, which is the first stage of this analysis.
